Aion 2 Hidden Cube Locations and Key Checks

A Hidden Cube is a treasure chest found while exploring Aion 2. Bring a Hidden Cube key, then use the maps below to choose places to search. A pin marks a possible spot, so a cube may not be there when you arrive.

What is a Hidden Cube in Aion 2?

Hidden Cubes are chests that you can find in the whole map. You may come across one while following a quest. Opening one requires an item called Key: Hidden Cube.

The hidden cube chest locations covered here are places to check during your travels. They are not a list of chests that are all waiting to be opened. A cube can appear at a different possible spot within its area.

Why are Hidden Cubes useful?

Hidden Cubes can give items that help your character. Rewards can include Soul Crystals for Pet Genus. Other possible rewards include supplies and appearance items.

Opening cubes also counts towards the Who Brought the Chest? achievements. These have several milestones, with rewards such as more keys, bound Kina and titles.

Check your Hidden Cube key before travelling

Open your inventory and look for Key: Hidden Cube Bound. Having a different key does not mean it will open this chest.

Check the character you are playing. Make sure that your selected character has the key ready to use.

Confirm the opening. complete the interaction and check that you received all contents before marking the location as found.

Where can you get Hidden Cube keys?

Start by checking rewards you already have on your character. Some sources give a key directly.

Quest rewards. Read the reward list before starting new quest. For example, Contaminated Area in Altgard lists a Hidden Cube key among its completion rewards.

Duty rewards. Some Duty missions and scrolls can also award a key.

Monolith rewards. Check the reward stages of your region's Monolith as you progress. Look for a key you already have earned but forgot claim.

Achievements. Check exploration achievements and the Who Brought the Chest? series for key rewards.

Current shops and events. Read the active offer's item name, cost, end date and purchase limit before spending anything.

How to use these Hidden Cube maps

Choose your region. Match the map name to the area where your lovely character is playing. Start with Verteron for an Elyos character or Altgard for an Asmodian character when searching your home region.

Select the location. Tap a pin or choose an entry from the location list. On a phone, tap the list button first. Many entries share the name Hidden Cube, so use their positions to tell them apart.

Search the area in the game. Check the ground and height around the point. The map cannot tell whether a cube is present right now.

Open it and record the find. Use the required key, collect the contents, then mark the pin as found.

Select Open full map inside a map for a larger view in a new tab. The Hidden Cube filter stays selected.

The maps show 3,721 possible spots across Verteron, Elthen, Altgard and Morheim. One cube can appear at several of these spots, so this is not a count of cubes present at one time.

Plan a short search around nearby landmarks

Choose a small group of points near a road, building or stretch of water you recognize. Search that area before going to another part of the map. This makes it easier for you to remember which places you checked and which still need a closer look.

A nearby pin may be above or below your character. Look around ledges, walls and entrances before trying to walk straight towards it. Some cube spots are underwater, so a surface view may not show.

If you need height along the way, the Updraft guide shows the currents covered across eight maps. Check whether a current fits your route and choose a safe landing spot. A nearby Updraft does not prove that it leads to a particular cube.

What should you do if a cube is missing?

First, make sure you selected the correct region and point. Then look above, below and around nearby obstacles.

If the area is empty, try to find nearby spot. Cubes can appear among several positions, and a place where you found one earlier may be empty on your next visit.

Keep track of the cubes you open

Use the found button after collecting a cube's contents. Keep that meaning consistent so an opened chest is easy to distinguish from a spot you only visited. Your checklist records your own finds; it does not show whether a new cube has appeared there.
