What is an Updraft in Aion 2?

An Updraft is a stream of wind that rises upwards. When you use it while flying, it lifts your character and helps you gain height. This makes it useful when your route takes you towards higher ground.

What can you do with Updrafts?

You can use an Updraft to gain height before flying towards your next landing spot. Think about where you want to go before entering the current, so you know which direction to take once you rise.

• Move towards higher ground. Look for an Updraft near a ledge or raised area you want to reach. Check the height and distance in the game before attempting the crossing.
• Plan a route through uneven terrain. Include nearby Updrafts when choosing a path through an area with cliffs or changes in height.
• Choose your next landing spot. Look for somewhere you can safely reach from the current, then continue journey from there.

Why are Updrafts useful?

Height matters when you explore. A place that looks close on the map may sit well above your character. An Updraft can help you gain height along the way, so it is worth checking for one when planning a route to a raised area.

The map shows each Updraft's position, but you still need to check the terrain in the game. Choose a current that fits your route and a landing spot you can reach.

How to use these Updraft maps

1. Find where you are. Compare the terrain around your character with the map, then zoom in on that area.
2. Choose an Updraft. Select a pin or choose a location from the list to see it on the map. On a phone, tap the list button to see the locations.
3. Check the path in the game. Cliffs / gaps can affect how you reach a pin. Look at the ground around you before setting off.
4. Mark it as found. After visiting an Updraft, use the found button in its details to keep track of it.

Finding an Updraft near your destination

Start with the place you want to reach and look for nearby Updraft pins. Keep your position, the pin and your destination in view. Then zoom in for a closer look at the ground around your chosen pin.

A nearby pin may be above or below you. Check how you will reach it and where you want to land. If a cliff blocks your path, look for another way around it.

Keep track of the Updrafts you visit
